Call it the Olympics of dance.
Professional dancers from around the world battle for global domination in Superstars of Dance, a televised competition from executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Fuller, the masterminds behind So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol.
Hosted by Michael Flatley (Riverdance, Lord of the Dance) and Susie Castillo (School Pride), the Superstars of Dance competition features teams from eight countries: Argentina, Australia, China, India, Ireland, Russia, South Africa and the U.S.
Each team features two soloists, a duo and an ensemble. Week after grueling week, the teams must dazzle an eight-member judging panel of choreographers and veteran dancers from around the world – or face elimination.
In addition to all the drama on stage, Superstars of Dance captures the theatrics behind the scenes, as performers push themselves to the limit in their pursuit of the coveted world title.
Said executive producer Nigel Lythgoe: “This is the most challenging and exhilarating project I’ve ever done. Nothing of this magnitude has ever been attempted before on television.”
